Our Objectives

  1. To encourage community involvement

  4. To create and encourage environmental initiatives
  5. To create family friendly spaces in parks and public areas

 

Our Mission

The Kelty Community Council Greening Group strives to make our village a great place to live, to celebrate our heritage and provide safe play areas and family friendly spaces for residents and visitors.

Tasks Involved

  • Seasonal planting of tubs, planters and green open spaces around the village.
  • General tidy up of green areas.
  • Provision of amenities to enhance green spaces (e.g. provide picnic tables and play areas).
  • Maintenance of monuments and memorials.
  • Improving environmental responsibility, conservation and biodiversity, develop local and natural heritage.
  • Encourage community participation in projects.

 

Keys to Success

  • Community Involvement: Engage with local volunteers, organised groups, the two primary schools and the local business community and promote support and involvement in the projects.
  • Develop Effective Projects: Produce achievable plans for projects that will fulfil the stated objectives.
  • Communication: Effective use of all available media to advertise for assistance and keep the community updated on the progress of projects.
